Creating Soundscape
Bi-Weekly Class beginning February 10, 2008. Sundays 3 - 5 P.M. SOUNDSCAPE activates the use of our indigenous voice to generate a tonal environment, a musical soundscape. Cultivating an a capella vocal soundscape is a profound spiritual practice. It challenges a community of people to create together without a conductor or musical score. This class provides a safe space for individual creative impulses to emerge and spontaneously weave a rich tonal tapestry with other voices. It begins with breath and movement exercises and a series of vocal warm-ups. Towards the end of the series, there will be the possibility of a future performance based on the class experience. The Tao of Internal Life Force
Saturday mornings, through November 3rd, 2007 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. (no class October 6th) Clear energetic obstructions in this breath-aligned movement class, and learn how to engage the Tao of the internal life force. Align your movement with the wave pulse of the breath to awaken you to your body’s innate intelligence. In an intimate group setting, you will be introduced to a powerful understanding of the breath that will allow you to harness your internal energy for creativity, self-healing, and the cultivation of your authentic being. Classes include various consciousness-anchoring exercises which deconstruct elements of dance and yoga. You will be guided to align the fluid pulse of the breath with the structure of your spine. We complete the practice with an open, organic dance movement process and tonal circle. Classes are small and the teaching is personal!
