Worldwide Meditation Circle
July 8th, 2007 Worldwide Meditation Sunday, July 8, 2007, 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm Around the globe, people will be gathering in groups to align themselves with a potent transmission of consciousness-stimulating energies. We are being called to join with others to align with this streaming of awakened consciousness, to heed the call of Earth. To address the destruction we have brought to our planet, we have an opportunity to ground ourselves in harmony with the Earth as a conscious living being. Meditation Circle Details Our circle will gather at 1:30pm. We will begin with a visualization (a worldwide transmission) to bring these energies through the central axis of our bodies. This work is necessary to ground these higher frequencies and actualize our potential ecstatic relationship with our planet. We will go into total silence at 2pm. After the meditation, we will do a vocal sound circle ending at 4pm and leave the space open for dialogue. time: Sunday, July 8 1:30pm-4:30pm location: Venice Garden Tent (enter thru side gate) 1372 Appleton Way , Venice , CA 90291 phone: 310.392.3612 This is a donation-only event. Changing the Dreamer Symposium Event
Saturday, August 11, 2007 6:45 P.M. – 10:00 p.m. Power Yoga Studio 1410 2nd Street (Corner of Santa Monica Blvd.) Santa Monica CA 90401 Greetings! You are invited to join facilitators Ruth Gould-Goodman and Tuck Tayler at the Awakening the Dreamer, Changing the Dream Symposium, whose purpose is to bring forth a bold vision: an environmentally sustainable, spiritually fulfilling, and socially just human presence on Earth. This dynamic and inspiring one-day symposium has been shifting thousands of people's consciousness towards a more sustainable society worldwide. The Pachamama Alliance ("pachamama" is an indigenous word for "the cosmos and all of life") is a U.S. based organization that created the Awakening the Dreamer—Changing the Dream symposium. The symposium was a result of the organization's dedication to preserving the rainforest in the Ecuadorian Amazon, as well as addressing the underlying demands from the modern world that threaten rainforest lands. The symposium is presented by volunteers throughout the world. The symposium is an examination of the many global crisis that we face. We will look at the latest information on how we're doing on a global scale, and the underlying cultural story—or "dream"—that got us into our global predicament. The symposium challenges our unexamined assumptions that have brought our entire civilization to the brink of...change. It examines how we treat one another, and how we treat the planet and why, as the primary consideration of the root causes of our situation today. If you are ready to be disturbed, inspired and moved to action, if you are ready to be introduced to a thriving community of like-hearted, deeply committed cohorts who are actively engaged in awakening from and changing the dream of our modern industrial culture, we invite you to come to the next symposium.
Tonal Cathedral of Sound Workshop
Sunday, September 30th 2007, 4-6 p.m. A TONAL CATHEDRAL OF SOUND explores the capacity of a group of people to use their voices a cappella to generate a musical tonal environment. Generating a musical soundscape is a profound spiritual practice because it cultivates our capacity to create with others in community without a conductor or musical score. You will be challenged to listen to and channel your own vocal expression while simultaneously attuning your whole being to the rich tonal tapestry of the group. There will be a series of both physical and vocal warm-ups to attune our vocal instrument to our task. As the group evolves, there is a possibility for a future performance for the music we create.
